Marcellus Shale Team Update

December 8, 2010

The holidays are a busy time for everyone, including the Marcellus Shale Team here at PRI. But while the blog has been quiet of late, you can trust that the Marcellus Shale Team has been hard at work, despite the turkey, traveling, and blustery weather. We’ve been working diligently to get our first few informational pamphlets ready for distribution. The stage we’re at is particularly important, because it’s the stage where our external “expert” panel of scientists reviews our work and offers suggestions for text clarification and accuracy. And we create additional images to make difficult concepts easier to understand.

We’re also getting ready to debut another science journalism piece! Thanks to our team of external authors for all of their hard work and contributions. We will be sure to post it both on the Museum of the Earth Marcellus website and on the blog when it’s ready.

New science pieces have been published or are in review on aspects concerned with Marcellus Shale drilling in recent weeks, including Dr. Bob Howarth and Dr. Tony Ingraffea’s summary of their natural gas life cycle analysis work. We look forward to reading these pieces and incorporating cutting edge science into our paper series.

So, while things seem to have been quiet, we’ve been very busy. And we’re working on our holiday shopping, too.
